We successfully delivered comprehensive civil works as part of Powerco’s Pukepapa substation upgrade, collaborating closely with the main contractor to support the safe and efficient delivery of this critical infrastructure project. Our scope included the installation of underground ducting networks designed to provide long-term protection and accessibility for electrical cabling, ensuring resilience and ease of future maintenance. Drawing on our drainage expertise, we also designed and installed robust stormwater management systems across the site, incorporating catch pits, piped networks, and surface water controls to effectively manage runoff and prevent flooding risks. The complexity of the project required precise planning and close coordination with Powerco’s electrical contractors, particularly in managing works around live electrical assets. Stringent safety protocols were applied to protect existing infrastructure and maintain continuous substation operations throughout construction. By combining careful execution with technical capability, the upgrade was completed, enhancing the substation’s capacity to meet the growing electricity demand in the region while ensuring long-term reliability and performance
