Our industry knowledge and experience in the wind farm industry covers 23 years and continues to grow. We helped establish the largest wind farm in the Southern Hemisphere in 1998, beginning with the first stage of the Tararua Wind Farm. Today, we’ve installed well over 180km of underground cable – Further than a Wellington to Palmerston North road trip!
Although unseen below ground, this cable is vital to ensuring that the power generated from wind farms are keeping everything powered. Did you know that the Tararua site is working at its optimal performance today? We implement procedures that keep our cabling at the highest quality possible – from its initial implementation and throughout operation.
We work alongside our contractors from the design phase, through to management and programming of the work. In the past, this has proven to pay-off with reductions to the overall project cost, with efficiency and ease being optimised in-turn.
We’re proud to be able to give back to communities across New Zealand through providing them with access to clean, green energy. Even more importantly, we’ve helped power Kiwi homes and kept the lights on with this energy – especially throughout the cold months of winter.
A wind turbine at the Tararua site can offset upwards of 34 hectares of 102 year old totara trees over its lifespan and power approximately 552 Kiwi homes annually.
Overall, we’ve serviced over 11 wind farms with a combined total of 401 turbines with an estimated 494.5GW capacity.
